Egypt jumps more than 90 places in road quality index

From the bottom to the top

Egypt is one of the strongest and most educated African countries in terms of military and numbers of people graduating each year and getting their academic degrees but when it comes to roads they were far behind from the world and even some of the African countries.

In 2017, Egypt was not among the Top 10 African Countries with the best roads. They were ranked 107th globally behind Zimbabwe.

Five years later in 2022, they are ranked number 2 in Africa after Namibia and 28th globally.

Egypt’s remarkable achievement is attributed to the national road project launched in August 6, 2014.

The state embarked on the construction of bridges, interchanges and new road network with lengths of 7,000 km at a total cost of $211 billion.

The project is believed to have resulted in a decrease in the rates of road accident by 41 percent, the injuries by more than 50 percent and the mortality rate.

Egypt jumps more than 90 places in road quality index. This project will help attract investments and create thousands of job opportunities.

Egypt is moving to the right direction.
